Merchant Banks
To process credit card transactions over the Internet
you first need to acquire a Merchant Account from a Merchant Bank.
Although you may already have a merchant account for off-line trading
you may need to acquire a another merchant account specifically for
on-line trading. The following Banks all offer on-line merchant accounts
/ status. We recommend you shop-around to find the best deal as each
Bank has it's own specific authorisation requirements and different
transaction rates apply.

Natwests Streamline Merchant Services
With Natwest's Streamline
Merchant Services you can accept all major credit, debit and charge
cards, and their International Merchant Services Multi-currency platform
offers merchants a range of trading and settlement currencies. Options
to offer goods and services to customers in any one of up to 140
different currencies world-wide.

Barclays Merchant Services
Barclays Merchant Services offers a number
of options for the processing of Internet transactions. These range from
keying details into a 'stand alone' PDQ terminal, to the fully managed
ePDQ service, providing on-line authorisation and payment directly to
your bank account. BMS is happy to process Visa, Mastercard, Switch and
JCB card transactions.

Lloyds TSB Cardnet Merchant Services
Cardnet is Lloyds TSB's multi
card processing service offering a single solution for MasterCard,
Eurocard, Visa, Switch and Solo transactions. Lloyd's preferred Payment
Gateway is Secure Trading.

Bank of Scotland Merchant Services
The Bank of Scotland Merchant
Services provides comprehensive facilities to retail and business
customers. They accept and process: Visa, MasterCard, Switch and Switch
Solo.

HSBC Merchant Services
Unfortunately we could not find any
information on the HSBC web site related to HSBC Merchant Services.
Hopefully HSBC have updated their site since our last visit.
