Collecting Information With Forms

Collecting information and sales leads on-line with forms can provide you with valuable information about your customers and clients. When a site visitor completes the form and clicks the Submit button, information gathered can be stored in a database, displayed on a web page or sent directly to an email address. Forms can be used for membership registration, gathering feed-back and taking orders on ecommerce web sites.

On-line forms contain "form fields" which are used to separate and collect different forms of data i.e. name, company, e-mail address, or a phone number.

Form Field Examples

[FrontPage Save Results Component]Text Box
Text boxes are used to gather all sorts of information from names to e-mail addresses.

Scrolling Text Box
Scrolling text boxes are used to collect one or more lines of text, such as an address or comment. This field scrolls to accommodate however many lines of text that are input.

Check Boxes
Check boxes are used for optional items.

Yes, send me the latest info.

Radio Buttons
Radio buttons are used when you want the user to select only one option from a group.

Wine Beer Soft Drinks

Drop-down Menus
Drop-down menus are used to present the user with a list of choices.

InterWeb Design associate and design two extra pages to compliment each form. A confirmation page, indicating to the user that their data has been successfully submitted and received, and an error page - just in case the form handler is not successful in processing the form data. Sometimes when forms are submitted errors occur, this doesn't happen very often, however we design an extra page to handle this type of situation.
